Operations Director – PE-backed Veterinary Group - Utah
We are seeking an experienced regional operator to lead a diverse portfolio of hospitals, including both general practice and specialist emergency facilities. This role requires regular travel across the region to partner closely with on-site teams, build strong, trust-based relationships, and drive the successful execution of key strategic and operational initiatives.
The Role
You will oversee the operations across a portfolio of hospitals, accountable for performance, alignment, and operational delivery.
Salary - $130-$155,000 (dependent on experience) 15% bonus relocation package (where applicable)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operational performance across a portfolio of veterinary hospitals, with responsibility for achieving financial and operational targets
- Partner with site leaders (Hospital Managers, Medical Directors) to drive performance, improve workflows, and enhance team engagement
- Monitor KPIs and implement initiatives to improve revenue growth, margin performance, and operational efficiency
- Support hiring, retention, and leadership development across the region
- Conduct regular site visits to assess performance, coach leaders, and identify areas for improvement
- Drive a consistent and high-quality client and patient experience across all locations
- Lead operational initiatives including process improvement, scaling best practices, and growth projects
- Ensure compliance with company policies, operational standards, and regulatory requirements
- Act as a key link between field teams and senior leadership, supporting alignment and communication
About You
- Proven experience in a multi-site leadership role (Regional / Area / Director level)
- Strong operational and financial acumen with experience managing P&L performance
- Background in veterinary, healthcare, or a similar service-led environment preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into action
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Operations, or a related field
- 3 years of multi-site leadership experience
- Veterinary experience preferred (GP and/or Emergency experience advantageous)
