A highly respected mid-sized law firm in downtown Chicago is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its collaborative Litigation Practice Group. This full-time opportunity offers a competitive salary of $110,000β$130,000 plus paid overtime and a highly flexible hybrid schedule, making it an excellent fit for a motivated legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, strong experience supporting matters in both Federal and State Courts, and must possess extensive cite-checking and fact-checking experience. Responsibilities of the Litigation Paralegal:
- Provide comprehensive litigation support by assisting attorneys with case management, organizing client documents, maintaining case files, and coordinating day-to-day litigation activities.
- Perform thorough cite-checking and fact-checking of briefs and legal filings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable court rules and Bluebook citation standards.
- Coordinate document review projects, assist with document production, and manage litigation databases using legal document management platforms.
- Prepare and support attorneys for depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial by organizing exhibits, case materials, and other essential litigation documents.
- Handle electronic filing and docket management for matters in both Federal and State Courts while monitoring deadlines and maintaining accurate case calendars.
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and internal staff while maintaining strict confidentiality across all firm and client matters.
- Work collaboratively with the litigation team to manage multiple priorities, meet critical deadlines, and provide high-quality support throughout every stage of the litigation process.
Qualifications of the Litigation Paralegal:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; Paralegal Certificate is a plus but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience supporting matters in Federal and State Courts.
- Required experience performing cite-checking and fact-checking of legal briefs and familiarity with Bluebook citation standards.
- Experience with electronic filing, docket management, document production, and litigation support throughout all phases of a case.
- Working knowledge of Relativity or other legal document management and database platforms preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
