Bookkeeper

A well-established consulting firm in Rolling Meadows, Illinois is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join its accounting and finance team. This hybrid position offers a salary range of $80,000 - $110,000, based on experience, and presents an excellent opportunity for an organized professional who enjoys managing financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial information, performing reconciliations, assisting with tax preparation, supporting compliance activities, and providing financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of investment entities, trusts, and closely held businesses. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and efficiency across financial processes.

Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper:

• Maintain accurate financial records for investment companies, trusts, and related entities while ensuring timely and organized reporting.
• Prepare and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
• Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledger accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable while researching and resolving discrepancies.
• Support tax preparation efforts for individuals, partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, and trusts by gathering information and assisting with compliance requirements.
• Assist with accounting compliance activities, including preparing reports, maintaining documentation, and supporting audits and regulatory reviews.
• Review financial activity, including revenues and expenses, to help identify trends and ensure accurate financial tracking.
• Provide financial information and reporting support to leadership to assist with operational efficiency and business planning.

Qualifications of the Bookkeeper:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial records, and reconciliation processes.
• Experience assisting with tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in-office three days per week.
