Our manufacturing facility is looking for a talented Quality CMM Technician who thrives in a team-oriented environment dedicated to high-precision standards and ongoing operational refinement. Your primary focus will involve the setup and programming of CMM machinery to validate that components align with exact engineering blueprints, customer mandates, and rigorous quality benchmarks.
By collaborating directly with our Engineering, Production, and Quality departments, you will serve as a vital contributor to the detection of defects, the implementation of necessary corrections, and the overall enhancement of our plant-wide inspection and production workflows.
Core Responsibilities
- Execute, program, and oversee CMM machinery to facilitate precise dimensional verification.
- Develop, refine, and improve CMM programming for various components to guarantee consistent and reliable output.
- Utilize CAD models, engineering blueprints, and GD&T principles to prepare and conduct thorough inspections.
- Conduct initial, ongoing, and final inspections to ensure all items strictly adhere to defined specifications.
- Utilize various handheld measurement instruments, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and specialized gauges.
- Maintain precise quality documentation and comprehensive records of all inspection findings.
- Evaluate inspection metrics to spot recurring patterns and highlight potential quality concerns.
- Help maintain a clear line of communication regarding inspection outcomes with Production and Quality staff to drive effective corrective measures.
- Engage in corrective action and root cause analysis processes to resolve production discrepancies.
- Contribute to the success of continuous improvement projects aimed at refining quality systems and inspection methodologies.
- Handle the regular calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of CMM software and hardware.
- Help maintain a compliant work environment by adhering to customer requirements and industry standards like AS9100, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949.
- Provide necessary assistance during external and internal quality audits.
- Help maintain a safe, tidy, and well-organized workspace for the entire team.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in measurement techniques and CMM technology.
Required Background
Key Qualifications
- Minimum of three years working as a Quality Inspector or CMM Technician within a production setting.
- Practical expertise in operating and programming CMMs utilizing Calypso, PC-DMIS, or comparable software.
- Deep understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
- Skilled in the application of various inspection techniques and precision measurement tools.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Effective communication skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration regarding inspection data.
- Working knowledge of quality frameworks such as IATF 16949 or ISO 9001.
- Competency with computer applications, including CAD software and Microsoft Office.

- Formal certification in metrology or quality inspection.
- Experience utilizing laser trackers, 3D scanning, or other sophisticated measurement tools.
