About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced CNC Value Stream Leader to oversee the CNC department's operations and drive continuous improvement. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of high-quality products, optimizing resource utilization, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Your expertise in CNC programming, machine operation, and team leadership will be essential to our success.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to CNC operators, team leads, and programmers, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
- Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of CNC programs, collaborating with programmers to implement necessary changes and modifications.
- Maintain CNC tooling and fixtures, ensuring proper maintenance and care to maximize their lifespan and performance.
- Set up and operate production equipment as needed, interpreting blueprints and diagrams to guarantee part quality and adherence to safety standards.
- Coordinate production schedules, ensuring company policies and procedures are followed, with a focus on safety, quality, and equipment maintenance.
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource allocation.
- Supervise non-exempt operators, programmers, and team leads, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience.
- Proficiency in GD&T, G-Code, and M-Code programming.
- Experience with CNC machine setup and changeover.
Preferred Skills
- Technical certificate or 2-year college degree.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC, 5 axis VMC) and CNC Lathe (2-4 axis, 5 axis) operations.
