What are the responsibilities and job description for the President - Multifamily Development position at Macdonald & Company?
Macdonald & Company is representing a well-established private real estate investment and development firm that’s launching a new residential platform focused on institutional-quality multifamily projects across the Southeast.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a platform from inception — with the backing, capital, and infrastructure of a proven firm. The President - Development will drive strategy, source and execute investments, and scale the division into a market-leading multifamily platform.
The role:
• Source and originate multifamily and mixed-use development opportunities
• Lead the full deal lifecycle — underwriting, entitlement, capitalization, execution, and delivery
• Manage equity and lender relationships and drive Investment Committee engagement
• Oversee P&L, budgeting, business planning, and team growth
• Collaborate closely with executive leadership
Focus areas:
• Core: Ground-up, market-rate multifamily development
• Secondary: Student housing and opportunistic/value-add acquisitions
• Geography: Metro Atlanta and the broader Southeast (GA, TN, NC, SC, AL, FL)
What’s on offer:
• Significant influence and autonomy to build and grow a standalone platform
• Full operational and capital support from an established parent company
• Highly competitive compensation package including base, promote, and potential ownership
If you have a strong track record in multifamily development or acquisitions leadership and are motivated by the chance to build something from the ground up, we’d like to hear from you.
