Macdonald & Company is partnered with a leading real estate developer based in Tampa, Florida, to appoint a Director of Finance to lead enterprise-wide financial planning, liquidity management, and credit facility oversight.
This role will serve as a key member of the finance leadership team, responsible for driving financial strategy, overseeing complex modeling, and managing lender relationships across a multi-project portfolio. The Director of Finance will play a critical role in supporting capital allocation decisions, risk management, and the company’s continued growth.
Initially, this position will be highly hands-on, owning financial planning, borrowing base compliance, and liquidity forecasting. Over time, the individual will further enhance financial infrastructure, reporting capabilities, and analytical processes to support long-term scalability and strategic execution.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Own the borrowing base calculation, validation, and certification process across all credit facilities
- Review cost eligibility, collateral values, advance rates, and exclusions in accordance with loan agreements
- Partner with Accounting and Operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness of borrowing base inputs
- Maintain controls and documentation to support lender audits and third-party reviews
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies
- Govern multi-year, project-level business plans, ensuring consistency of assumptions across development timelines, lot mix, pricing, and absorption
- Partner with Development and Operations to align financial plans with execution
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions
- Translate complex financial data into clear insights for senior leadership and capital partners
- Own version control and approval processes for financial models and forecasts
- Lead enterprise-wide cash flow forecasting, integrating project-level cash flows, debt, and equity
- Build and maintain detailed project-level and consolidated waterfall models
- Monitor liquidity, borrowing availability, and overall funding runway
- Conduct stress testing and downside scenario analysis
- Oversee covenant compliance and monitoring across all credit facilities
- Prepare borrowing base certificates, compliance certificates, and lender reporting packages
- Serve as the primary liaison with lenders, proactively identifying risks and mitigation strategies
- Monitor land bank structures and lot takedown schedules, evaluating impact on liquidity and returns
- Partner with Legal and Accounting on compliance and reporting requirements
- Oversee financial dashboards and reporting across liquidity, borrowing base utilization, and key performance metrics
- Enhance analytics and reporting capabilities to support decision-making and scenario planning
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis, including scenario and sensitivity modeling
- Support refinancings, amendments, new credit facilities, joint ventures, and acquisitions
- Prepare materials for executive leadership and board-level presentations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 8–12 years of experience in FP&A, credit analytics, real estate, or project finance
- Direct experience with borrowing base facilities and covenant structures
- Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills
- Strong understanding of land development economics
- CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred
- Experience working with private credit or institutional lenders is a plus
- Familiarity with real estate ERP systems and reporting tools is beneficial

Salary : $180,000 - $225,000
