Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, along with proficiency in various engineering tools and methodologies. The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success from conception through implementation.


Responsibilities


Project & Bid Management:

  • Compile Overhead Contact System bills of material for project bids from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Track project milestones, providing updates to management and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
  • Coordinating engineering requirements and aligning with the Project Manager for RFQs/RFIs and submissions.

Engineering Design & Development:

  • Design Overhead Contact System (OCS) assemblies for awarded projects.
  • Prepare documentation for submittal, including assembly and component drawings, test reports, O&M, cost estimates, and other required submittal documents as required.
  • Evaluate, design, and test mechanical and electromechanical systems, applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, and materials.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by designing or modifying equipment and assembly methods.
  • Review project submittals, system capabilities, and contractor RFIs, providing technical feedback and necessary revisions.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

  • Develop testing methods to evaluate mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to quality standards and product specifications.
  • Provide on-site support for installation, testing, and commissioning, assisting clients with system integration and operation.
  • Assure system quality by testing finished products and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  • Document and analyze product performance, compiling reports on trends, test results, and potential improvements.

Maintenance & Technical Support:

  • Maintain product and system databases, developing and implementing data tracking systems.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members and support customer inquiries related to product capabilities and maintenance.

Customer & Team Engagement:

  • Attend customer meetings, build events, trade shows and industry standards meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of all systems and alignment with project goals.
  • Support training and development for technicians, sharing best practices and ensuring knowledge transfer.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineering license preferred.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, is essential.
  • Experience with project scheduling tools and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards relevant to mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively.
  • Knowledge of MATLAB for modeling and simulation purposes is preferred.
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components using CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
  • Create and analyze schematics to ensure proper functionality of mechanical designs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues in existing products and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish project schedules and meet deadlines.
  • Fabricate prototypes and conduct testing to validate design concepts against specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards throughout the design process.
  • Utilize MATLAB for simulations and data analysis to support engineering decisions.
  • Work with logic controllers for automation projects as needed.
  • Document all engineering processes, designs, and modifications for future reference.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.

Salary : $75,000 - $95,000
