The Role
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and develop our engineering team while overseeing multiple concurrent projects. This role blends technical leadership, people management, and cross‑functional coordination, supporting everything from design quality and ECN management to manufacturing support and customer collaboration. This is a very high-level role that will report directly to the Director of Engineering and will play a key leadership role within the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, prioritize, and develop a team of Engineers and Drafters
- Manage engineering workflow across multiple active projects
- Provide technical guidance, design review, and quality oversight
- Review and approve ECNs and design changes; ensure compliance with ISO and GD&T standards
- Ensure traceability between contract requirements, drawings, and bills of material
- Support manufacturing with fit, function, tolerance, and rework issues
- Collaborate with Project Management, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain
- Present project updates to senior leadership and participate in customer meetings
- Support new product development and improve existing designs for manufacturability
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 5-10 years of experience managing engineering teams and developing direct reports
- Experience managing ECN processes and complex engineering projects
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and hands‑on leadership skills
- Proven ability to work cross‑functionally in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Nice to Have
- PE license
- SolidWorks and AutoCAD (2D & 3D) experience
- Experience with OCS (Overhead Catenary Systems), OCR (Overhead Conductor Rail) or Electrified Mass Transit
- New product development experience
