Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the shop, ensuring efficient and effective production processes.
- Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles to continuously improve operational efficiency and reduce waste.
- Manage and coordinate the activities of shop personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor and maintain quality control standards to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as supply chain and quality assurance, to streamline operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Implement and maintain systems for inventory management, production tracking, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all employees.
Experience:
- Proven experience in plant management or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of production management principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies and their application in improving operational efficiency.
- Experience in supply chain management, including procurement, inventory control, and logistics.
- Proficient in using systems for production planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of quality control processes and standards.
