Job Summary
Admissions is in charge of the admissions process in a nursing home. Other responsibilities include working directly with residents and the families of residents. Responsible for keeping all information, such as agreements and contracts, up to date. Maintaining confidentiality and providing prospective admissions with requested information.
Specific Requirements

Working Conditions
Works in office areas as well as throughout the nursing service area (i.e., medication, resident’s rooms, etc.)
Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during working hours.
Is subject to frequent interruptions.
Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies, under all conditions/circumstances.
Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel and visitors.
Communicates with medical staff, nursing personnel.
Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends, holidays when necessary.
Is subject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc. throughout the workday.
Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, including AIDS and Hepatitis B Viruses.
Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or without the aid of mechanical devices.)
Must be able to cope with the mental stress and emotional stress of the position.
Must be able to hear and see or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function.
Must be in general good health.
Must be able to lift, pull, push and move a minimum of fifty pounds.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
Employee will receive in service education for all mandatory topics, upon hire, and at least, annually thereafter. The facility Administrator and/or designee will be responsible for conducting observations, evaluations and competencies of the employee to ensure compliance and competency. Employee is expected to follow all facility policies and procedures referenced upon hire and as needed including timeliness, attendance, confidentiality, and professionalism. Attire is expected to be neat, hygienic, and professional.

Duties And Requirements –
- Reports to work on time, properly attired.
- Attends Daily AM Report/Quality Assurance Meeting
- Completion of daily census updates
- Plans and coordinates the daily activities and operations of Admitting Department to ensure
- Screens all referrals for potential admission prior to giving to DNS/Designee
- Ensures all PRI received are reviewed and referred to DNS/Designee in a timely manner.
- Responds to all referrals in a timely manner with goal for 15 minutes or less response time
- Ensures all insurance is verified, documented and authorizations in place.
- Completes all pre-admission checks including sex offender registry
- Controls the workflow process regarding nursing home admissions, discharges, and transfers or
- Participates in the utilization review/discharge process.
- Recommends policies and procedures pertaining to admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Responsible for upkeep of admissions, discharges, and room change logs.
- Assist families regarding admissions procedures and provide tours of the Facility.
- Responsible for reviewing Admission Agreement with the resident, family, client, or sponsor
- Responsible for administrative and other related departmental duties as required.
- Responsible for gathering preadmission information.
- Responsible for communicating all admissions with interdisciplinary team timely
- Responsible for ensuring that the admission’s room is ready with all required equipment on
- Completes all pre-admission activities timely upon confirmation of scheduled admission
- Responsible for Marketing the Nursing Home
- HIPAA- ensure that individuals’ health information is properly protected.
- Participates in community outreach projects.
- Performs work of equal skill and responsibilities as directed. Maybe be assigned additional
- Performs all other related duties as required and unrelated duties as requested during
Salary : $90,000 - $95,000
