Position Summary
The Area Manager role is designed to oversee specific areas in the warehouse. They are to focus on developing talent, enhancing time management and organizational skills, and fostering a safety-first culture.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Strategically manage area in compliance with company’s policies and vision
- Oversee assigned area operations
- Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
- Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
- Plan work rotations, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
- Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees
- Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc.)
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Education, Experience and Skills Required
- High school diploma or G.E.D and 2 years management experience
- Walk / stand for 8 or more hours daily
- Verse in warehouse management procedures and best practices
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
- Leadership skills and ability manage staff
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
