About the Role
Lyonshare is seeking a Chief of Staff to play an instrumental role in the launch and acceleration of venture-backed startups and funds across strategies (venture, PE, hedge funds, real estate). This role will span many elements of the fundraising process including vetting inbound opportunities, working with startup and fund clients, communications, operations, business and pricing strategy, client success, sales, and business development. The Chief of Staff will work closely with our founder on a variety of initiatives and will also independently own business functions, with many opportunities for long-term growth.
Location
Our business team works in a flexible, hybrid work environment in downtown New York City. Must be based in NYC or SF, although this position is at least half remote.
Employment Status
This is a full-time role, starting ASAP. U.S. work authorization is required.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as right hand to founder across all aspects of the business including client work, business development, sales, strategic and operational initiatives
- Lead project management and own client success throughout and after projects
- Communicate with and diligence potential clients, including scoping and closing new business inquiries
- Strategize and execute marketing and BD initiatives, including leading all marketing and partnerships efforts
- Lead operations, i.e. marketing, CRM, HR, and launching new initiatives from 0 to 1
- Represent Lyonshare in networking organizations and events
- Refine and execute Lyonshare’s own products and approach to the market, be a key partner to help build out and further establish our own business
Our Ideal Candidate
- 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in investment/sourcing/ops/platform role at a VC fund or financial strategy firm (IB, consulting) or BD, partnerships, relationship management, sales
- A naturally charismatic people-person with a talent for hustling, networking, marketing, negotiating, and closing
- Quick to empathize with and understand client needs, responding with agility and resourcefulness to address queries and concerns
- Makes sure nothing ever gets dropped, ruthlessly detail oriented and organized
- A master communicator, adept at articulating Lyonshare's value proposition with clarity and conviction
- Track record of successfully closing sales, partnerships, and/or sourcing investments/deals
- Thrives in fast-paced environments, adapting swiftly to changing requirements and emerging opportunities
- Driven and relentless problem solver with strong strategic thinking skills
- Skilled relationship builder with a passion for working across teams
- Knowledge of startup and VC fundraising processes and terminology; existing network in the tech startup and venture capital ecosystem is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree with a strong record of high academic achievement
Compensation
Base salary range for this role is $130,000 to $160,000, commensurate with experience and background. Additional compensation includes a performance-based bonus, the option to invest alongside Lyonshare into our clients via Lyonshare’s guaranteed investment rights, and standard benefits (healthcare, vision, dental, 401k).
