Lyon College is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Business Office. This position will manage payroll processing for faculty, staff, and student employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The role also provides support in Human Resources and general ledger functions, and serves as backup for other business office roles.

Key Responsibilities
- Process semimonthly payroll and maintain payroll records
- Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations
- Assist with various accounting functions, including reconciliations
- Support other business office staff as needed
- Payroll and/or accounting experience required; higher education or nonprofit experience preferred
- 2 years of experience in payroll, human resources and/or customer service.
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel); experience with Jenzabar or iSolved a plus
