* * * THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO INTERNAL LUSD CANDIDATES ONLY * * * TITLE 1 FUNDED POSITION * * * DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Under the immediate direction of the Director of Secondary Education or designee. The position of Academic Coach is specialized in nurturing literacy skills within the realm of English Language Arts (ELA). This role plays a pivotal part in supporting students to enhance their reading, writing, comprehension, and critical analysis abilities within the context of ELA. The ideal candidate will provide tailored guidance and strategies to empower students to excel in literacy within English Language Arts. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Permanent status in LUSD • Meet district standard performance ratings on Stull evaluation and, in the preceding four years, have no unsatisfactory or needs improvement rating • Three years or more of teaching experience in secondary education • Clear Single Subject credential in English • Appropriate certification to teach English language learners (CLAD, BCLAD, SB1969 certificate, BCC or LDS certificate)
