Executive Recruiter – Insurance & Wealth Management


About the Role

We are seeking a highly driven Executive Recruiter with a proven track record of building client relationships within the insurance and/or wealth management sectors. This is a role for a true business developer — someone who knows the industry, understands how decisions get made, and brings a deep network of executives, hiring leaders, and industry influencers.

We are seeking a recruiter who can walk in on day one with relationships to activate, conversations to initiate, and a clear plan to generate new search work within the first 30 days.

Key Responsibilities

Client Development & Revenue Generation

  • Build and grow a personal book of business across insurance carriers, MGAs, brokers, TPAs, and / or asset managers, RIAs, and wealth management platforms.
  • Leverage an existing network to secure new search assignments quickly.
  • Develop and execute a proactive outreach strategy targeting senior leaders, hiring executives, and decision‑makers.
  • Maintain a consistent cadence of outreach, follow-up, and market engagement to stay top‑of‑mind.
  • Conduct high credibility client meetings, needs assessments, and pitch presentations that convert into new engagements.
  • Maintain a strong pulse on market trends, organizational changes, and leadership movements to identify new business opportunities.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to clients, not just a recruiter — someone they call first when a hiring need emerges.


Search Execution

  • Lead full cycle executive search engagements from intake to placement, ensuring a high‑touch, consultative experience for clients and candidates.
  • Build and manage candidate pipelines using a combination of research, referrals, and direct sourcing.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage sourcing professionals assigned to your searches, ensuring they understand the client’s needs, role nuances, and search strategy.
  • Set clear expectations for research output, candidate quality, outreach volume, and timeline adherence, holding sourcing partners accountable for meeting agreed upon milestones.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and pipeline reviews to ensure sourcing activity is aligned with client priorities and producing qualified candidates.
  • Drive a culture of ownership and urgency within the sourcing function, ensuring that every engagement moves forward with discipline and momentum.


Required Experience

  • 4 years of experience with a search firm running a full desk or being focused on business development, ideally within insurance, financial services, or wealth management vertical(s).
  • Demonstrated success generating new search work through personal outreach, networking, and relationship cultivation.
  • A deep, active network of industry contacts that can be leveraged immediately.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the discipline to build and manage a personal revenue pipeline.


Who Will Not Be Successful in This Role

To ensure clarity, this role is not designed for:

  • Lead dependent recruiters who rely on inbound requests, marketing funnels, or a BD team feeding them opportunities.
  • Account managers who primarily service existing clients rather than generating new ones.
  • Recruiters who prefer to operate reactively rather than proactively.
  • Individuals uncomfortable with outreach, networking, or building relationships from scratch.

  • You activate your network immediately and secure new search work within 30 days.
  • You secure new business from: existing client relationships that you’ve personally developed and newly generated client relationships.
  • You become a trusted advisor to insurance and/or wealth management leaders.
  • You contribute meaningfully to the Lyneer’s growth through both revenue and reputation.
