Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Provision
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provisions and tax footnotes for financial statements
- Prepare U.S. federal and state income tax returns, including estimated payments and extensions
- Maintain quarterly reconciliations for taxes payable and deferred taxes
- Perform research on income tax-related topics and summarize findings for internal use
- Respond to federal and state audit inquiries and support external tax reviews
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of regional and regulatory tax filings
- Stay up to date with applicable tax law changes and ensure compliance
Financial Reporting & General Accounting
- Oversee general ledger activities and ensure the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- Review account reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, and variance analysis
- Conduct detailed profit and loss analysis to identify trends, cost drivers, and profitability by business segment
- Coordinate annual financial audits and quarterly reviews, ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Ensure adherence to headquarters’ reporting deadlines and formatting protocols
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and tax compliance
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and corporate income tax regulations
- Hands-on experience with income tax provision, tax return preparation, and general ledger accounting
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, AICPA, or other relevant certifications
- Experience working with multiple entities or global subsidiaries
- Public accounting firm experience is a plus
- Experience building or optimizing accounting processes in fast-growing environments
