Location: Based in Tucker, GA (outside of Atlanta)
About the role:
- Take ownership of designing overhead transmission systems that power communities. Structural design experience is a strong plus.
- Create detailed drawings and specifications, and see projects through engineering, procurement, and construction.
- Dive into technical research and engineering analysis to shape design standards and approve critical materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex challenges using both proven and innovative design approaches.
- Mentor junior engineers, lead design reviews, and provide expert guidance across departments and partner organizations.
- Influence strategic decisions through technical investigations, process improvements, and even legal testimony on engineering standards.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering
- 5-10 years of transmission line design engineering experience (PE can substitute for 2 years of experience)
- PE license in the State of Georgia is desirable
- Strong communication skills, proficiency in PLS-CADD, Microsoft Office applications, and AutoCAD
