Senior Project Manager
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
A leading mechanical contracting firm is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee and deliver complex commercial and industrial HVAC and mechanical construction projects. This role is responsible for full project lifecycle management-from preconstruction through closeout-ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Lead multiple large-scale mechanical construction projects simultaneously, with full P&L ownership
- Manage project teams including Project Managers, Engineers, Coordinators, and Field Supervisors
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure alignment with client expectations and contract requirements
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and financial reporting
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, owners, and key stakeholders
- Negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and change orders
- Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams during project handoff
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues proactively
- Monitor project performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency and profitability
- Mentor and develop junior project management staff
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- 8 years of experience in mechanical construction project management
- Strong background in HVAC, piping, and commercial/industrial construction projects
- Proven track record managing projects exceeding $5M in value
- Deep understanding of construction contracts, scheduling (e.g., Primavera, MS Project), and cost control processes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in project management and construction software tools
- Strategic thinking with strong problem-solving capabilities

Salary : $140,000 - $160,000
