Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and debug PLC code for existing machinery.
- Create and refine motion control programs.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment using technical knowledge and available resources.
- Recommend improvements, including new equipment or procedural changes, to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct detailed inspections and inventories to determine maintenance and repair needs.
- Assist in planning and coordinating team efforts.
- Work non-standard schedules at field locations, adapting to varying environmental conditions.
- Specify system components or products to ensure compliance with engineering design and performance standards.
- Train and support Field Service Engineers and Technicians.
- Ensure adherence to workplace safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve automation products.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline (BSEE preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automation industry.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Experience configuring and designing HMI/OIT systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, National Instruments, Maple Systems).
- Familiarity with UL and CE industry standards.
- Knowledge of vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).
- Experience with motion controllers/actuators (e.g., IAI, Yaskawa).
- Strong troubleshooting skills for control system issues.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and prints.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40-hour work week.
- Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts.
