We are working with a long established heavy civil and infrastructure contractor headquartered in Michigan, with a strong reputation across public and private road construction, site development, concrete paving, asphalt paving, underground utilities, excavation, and concrete repair work. Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in paving and roadway construction. This role will oversee paving-heavy civil projects from bid handoff through closeout, with a focus on managing budgets, schedules, field coordination, production, subcontractors, change orders, and client communication.
This is a strong opportunity for a Project Manager who understands the pace and detail required in concrete paving, asphalt paving, underground utilities, roadway construction, and related civil scopes.
- Manage paving and roadway projects from award through final completion
- Oversee budgets, schedules, cost tracking, and overall project performance
- Coordinate closely with paving crews, superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and owners
- Review plans, specifications, quantities, and contract documents to ensure full scope understanding
- Track paving production, material quantities, labor, equipment, and project costs
- Support procurement, scheduling, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation
- Work with field teams to keep paving operations safe, efficient, and on schedule
- Help resolve project issues related to access, phasing, traffic control, materials, weather, and sequencing
- Maintain clear communication between office, field, clients, and project stakeholders
- Ensure work is completed to safety, quality, schedule, and specification requirements
- 5 years of experience managing heavy civil, roadway, asphalt paving, or concrete paving construction projects
- Strong understanding of paving operations, production planning, grading, base preparation, and civil project coordination
- Experience working with MDOT, municipalities, counties, airports, or private development clients is a plus
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, change orders, quantities, and project documentation
- Comfortable reading plans, specifications, contracts, and project schedules
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with field leadership
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple moving parts at once
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed

Salary : $105,000 - $135,000
