Our client, a well-established General Contractor with a growing presence in the mission critical sector, is seeking an MEP Estimator to join their Northern Virginia team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering large-scale hyperscale, colocation, and mission critical facilities for some of the world's leading technology companies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed MEP estimates for data center and mission critical projects.
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate cost projections.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Work closely with Preconstruction, Operations, and Business Development teams throughout the pursuit process.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
- Assist in budget development, conceptual estimating, and GMP pricing.
- Participate in bid reviews, scope analysis, and client presentations where required.
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors across the electrical and mechanical markets.
Requirements
- 5 years of estimating experience within commercial construction.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Previous experience estimating data center, mission critical, pharmaceutical, healthcare, industrial, or large commercial projects preferred.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience with take-off and estimating software.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
