A rapidly growing national construction firm is seeking a Chief Estimator to join its growing team in the Quincy/ Braintree area.
As the company continues to expand its self-perform operations across the Northeast, this individual will play a key role in supporting work acquisition and pricing strategy. This a high‑impact, strategic position reporting directly to regional executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities of the Chief Estimator | Self-Performing Commercial:
- Responsible for successful project delivery by overseeing budgeting, estimating, constructability reviews, and client engagement
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for self-performed construction scopes
- Manage workloads and schedules to meet deadlines for both personal and team deliverables
- Partner with the Vice President and regional leadership team to drive pursuit strategy, project acquisition, and client satisfaction
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope risks, inclusions, and exclusions
Qualifications of the Chief Estimator | Self-Performing Commercial:
- Construction estimating experience across large-scale commercial projects, with a strong focus on self-performed work
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and technical proficiency across software, excel and take-offs
- Proven experience estimating concrete, general conditions, labor, carpentry, or specialty trades
- Expert in cost estimating and analysis across all project stages
- Solid understanding of construction means and methods, labor productivity, and scheduling impacts
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Excel, OST, Bluebeam, Sage, ProEst, or similar tools)
