What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Architect position at LVI Associates?
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate or Sr. Associate Architect to join a collaborative and design-driven team based in Boston. This individual will play a key leadership role in the design, management, and execution of projects across a diverse portfolio, while contributing to the firm's growth through client engagement and business development.
The ideal candidate brings a strong architectural background and has demonstrated success leading project teams across multiple market sectors including Multifamily, Hospitality, Affordable Housing, and/or Workforce Housing. Experience in Education or other institutional sectors is a plus, while single-family experience should be complementary rather than a primary focus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural projects from concept through construction across a range of scales and typologies
- Oversee and mentor internal project teams, fostering collaboration and design excellence
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Produce and review high-quality design documentation, including construction drawings and Revit models
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, zoning requirements, and accessibility standards
- Participate in client presentations and maintain strong client relationships
- Support and contribute to business development efforts, including proposals, networking, and pursuit strategies
- Provide leadership within the studio, contributing to culture, process improvement, and design direction
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture required
- Licensed Architect or actively working toward licensure required
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in architecture
- Strong experience in Multifamily, Hospitality, Affordable Housing, and/or Workforce Housing projects
- Additional experience in Education or institutional work is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage teams through all phases of design and construction
- Advanced proficiency in Revit
- Strong understanding of building systems, materials, and construction methods
- Working knowledge of building codes and accessibility standards
- Excellent design, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

Salary : $135,000 - $160,000
