We are seeking a driven Account Manager – Field Sales to join our clients growing team. This role is responsible for developing and managing a profitable portfolio of customers within the Industrial Packaging vertical.
The ideal candidate is a true hunter, focused on securing strategic, multi-location, high-volume accounts while building long-term relationships with customers and supplier partners. This individual will leverage a consultative sales approach to drive value-added solutions, strengthen supply chain efficiencies, and support our National and Strategic Account initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and develop new business opportunities using company tools, data, and internal resources
- Grow and expand existing customer accounts by increasing product penetration and wallet share
- Prepare pricing proposals and quotations for new products in collaboration with suppliers and procurement teams
- Manage customer-specific stocked inventory programs to ensure optimal turns and service levels
- Support and execute Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs based on customer needs
- Conduct regular business reviews with top-tier accounts to evaluate performance and identify growth opportunities
- Continuously build product knowledge through supplier and manufacturer training
- Educate customers on supply chain trends, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations
- Partner with Accounts Receivable to resolve payment issues when escalations occur
- Participate in monthly onsite sales meetings and internal strategy sessions
- Attend industry trade shows and networking events to generate leads and strengthen market presence
- Collaborate with manufacturer representatives to identify referral opportunities
- Actively solicit referrals from existing customers and business relationships
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Proven experience in B2B sales, preferably within industrial supply, packaging, distribution, or a related industry
- Strong background in prospecting, negotiation, relationship building, and closing new business
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of self-motivation and accountability
- Strong business acumen with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple accounts and initiatives effectively
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general business software
