Position Classification: Full-Time Administration
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Education - Master's Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field and at least seven (7) years of relevant work experience; or Doctoral Degree with at least five (5) years of relevant work experience.
- Experience - Minimum five (5) years progressive administrative experience in higher education; experience in a community college preferred; Post-secondary teaching experience preferred; experience in a registrars office or academic records environment preferred.
- Skills - Demonstrated knowledge of FERPA, higher education regulations, and academic policies; demonstrated effective interpersonal communication, critical thinking, problem solving, team building, public speaking and mediation; proven leadership abilities and a commitment to ongoing professional development; demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the mission and philosophy of the community college; commitment to fostering an inclusive campus environmental and respect for individuals with diverse backgrounds, abilities and needs; demonstrated alignment with the philosophy and purpose of a comprehensive community college.
Oversee all functions related to student academic records, including registration process, enrollment verification, grades, transcripts, degree conferral, and record retention; maintain the integrity, security, and confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA and other applicable regulations; collaborate with Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Success Center, and Academic Affairs to support student success and retention initiatives; manage course scheduling process in collaboration with academic departments including monitoring adds, drops, withdrawals, and the issuing of student transcripts and other student information; oversee processing of grade changes, course substitutions, prior learning credit, credit by exam and academic amnesty; develop, implement, and interpret academic policies and procedures in collaboration with Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management and Student Success, and Institutional Effectiveness to ensure compliance with college, state, federal, and accreditation requirements; evaluate student records to ensure graduation requirements are met, prepare graduation audits and final grade approvals prior to conferring degrees; oversee coordinate commencement and graduation processes; supervise, train, and evaluate registrars office staff; other related duties as assigned.
