Position Overview
Step into a pivotal leadership role where you will drive the execution of complex, high-impact federal and institutional projects across the U.S. As a Mechanical HVAC Engineer OR Electrical Engineer – Project Manager, you will take ownership of multi-million-dollar initiatives, guiding them from concept through completion while ensuring technical excellence, client satisfaction, and operational success. Core Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of complex engineering projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and financial performance
- Direct multi-disciplinary design teams across mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, and specialty consultants
- Serve as the primary client liaison, fostering long-term relationships and ensuring consistent project delivery excellence
- Oversee design development, quality assurance, and technical compliance from planning through construction
- Facilitate internal coordination, including team meetings, progress reporting, and cross-office collaboration
- Conduct peer reviews and quality control processes, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and regulatory adherence
- Drive business development initiatives, including proposal development, client presentations, and strategic pursuits
- Coordinate with subconsultants and internal stakeholders to optimize project execution and resource allocation
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and project staff, contributing to team growth and leadership development
- Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies to elevate project performance and delivery standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 8 years of experience managing engineering design projects
- Demonstrated experience with federal, institutional, healthcare, or higher education projects
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across varying phases
- Proficiency in industry-standard engineering and project management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project)
- Willingness to travel for project sites and client meetings
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with federal agencies (DoD, VA, GSA, DHS)
- Background in mission-critical or secure facility design
- Multi-discipline coordination experience on large-scale ($50M ) projects
- Experience contributing to business development and client account growth
