- Responsible for purchasing maintenance and engineering related parts and supplies at all assigned plants
- Primary point of contact for purchasing requests from the Maintenance Department
- Manage requisition system send quotes, enter pricing, and issue purchase orders that meet the needs of internal customers while emphasizing cost reduction.
- Ensure delivery terms meet company production demands, while maintaining accurate and sufficient lead times.
- Proactively follow up on open orders and communicate any delays to stakeholders.
- Develop and sustain strong supplier relationships to enable clear communication, prompt issue resolution, and consistent service performance
- Contribute as team member to department improvement projects.
- Assist with the cycle counting program at Forming facility
- Collaborate with department managers, engineers and operations staff.
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable to resolve any issues related to delivery, receiving, and payment to the vendor
- Maintain purchasing systems and vendor files in accordance with compliance policies.
- Manage relevant vendor issue resolution (delivery, SCARs, returns, credits etc.)
- Support continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
- Provide support and PTO coverage for the Purchasing Team
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field required
- Minimum of 1 year purchasing or manufacturing related experience .
- Must be comfortable with working within a manufacturing environment and engaging with machine operators or maintenance employees at their work centers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Effective time management skills with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks under the pressure of deadlines.
- Must have the ability to travel in between plant facility locations
- Requires ability and interest in working in a team-oriented environment.
- Requires effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with individuals across all levels of the organization
- Requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
