About the Role:
Lumos & Associates is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Inspector to independently conduct inspections and field testing on public works construction projects. This position is perfect for those who enjoy a dynamic and rewarding role in construction oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts inspections and field tests as per project plans and specifications.
- Completes daily field inspection/testing reports.
- Interprets project plans and specifications, working autonomously to ensure compliance.
- Verifies the quality of materials and workmanship used on an assigned construction project.
- Issues stop-work orders when necessary and follows up on corrective actions.
- Attends project meetings and provides technical input as needed.
- Upholds safety standards and promptly reports safety concerns or required repairs to management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum of three years of experience in construction inspection or a blend of education, experience, and/or relevant certifications.
- Required Certifications:
- ACI – Field Technician Grade I
- NAQTC – Sampling/Density, R-66
- OSHA – 10
- Nuke Gauge Operator
- ICC – Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
- ATSSA – Traffic Control Supervisor
- Ability to work the hours necessary, including overtime, to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for the purpose of performing the job duties.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 75 pounds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to travel regularly between offices with the use of a company vehicle.
- Valid driver's license and driving record with 3 or less demerit points.
- Work independently and make a direct impact on key public projects.
