Senior Labor & Employment Associate (California)

We are seeking a high-level Senior Associate to join our premier Labor & Employment practice. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious attorney to handle sophisticated legal matters at a top-tier firm. We are currently considering candidates with a background in either Plaintiff-side or Defense-side litigation.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in California’s complex labor landscape, specifically regarding FEHA single-plaintiff litigation and/or Wage & Hour class actions/PAGA representative actions.

Core Responsibilities

• Case Management: Lead complex litigation matters from inception through trial or settlement, including developing legal strategies and managing junior associates.
• Litigation Excellence: Draft and argue high-stakes motions (Summary Judgment, Class Certification, Demurrers), take and defend key depositions, and manage expert witnesses.
• Specialized Advocacy: * For FEHA focus: Navigate claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination.
• For Wage & Hour focus: Manage class-wide discovery, statistical analysis coordination, and PAGA compliance/litigation.
• Client Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic advice on risk mitigation and litigation posture.
• Negotiation: Lead mediation sessions and settlement negotiations to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 1–9 years of dedicated Labor & Employment litigation experience in California.
• Licensure: Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of the California Labor Code, FEHA, IWC Wage Orders, and PAGA.
• Education: Doctor of Law

Pay: $140,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year
