What are the responsibilities and job description for the Platform Engineer position at Lumen Resources?
We're looking for a Platform Engineer to join a growing enterprise organization focused on supporting reliability, administration and improvement of technology environment.
What You’ll Do
- Administer and support cloud, infrastructure, monitoring, security, source-control, automation, and deployment platforms used across the enterprise.
- Review, prioritize, investigate, and resolve incidents and service requests involving platform tools, cloud resources, and automated workflows.
- Diagnose unsuccessful automation jobs, determine the underlying cause, coordinate remediation, and provide clear updates to affected teams.
- Provide operational support for technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Ansible, Terraform, GitHub, Nexus, SolarWinds, and infrastructure-as-code solutions
- Assist with the ongoing administration, maintenance, and governance of Azure services and related infrastructure components.
- Perform recurring platform maintenance and operational governance activities, including:
- Monitoring credential, certificate, and secret expiration dates
- Coordinating credential and access-key rotations
- Identifying cloud resources that are missing required tags
- Supporting resource inventory, cleanup, and governance initiatives
- Reviewing system and application logs
- Extracting technical data for troubleshooting, reporting, compliance, or audit purposes
- Help maintain consistent operating procedures and infrastructure standards across a globally distributed technology environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in infrastructure operations, cloud operations, systems engineering, platform support, DevOps, or a related technical environment.
- Working knowledge of cloud computing, infrastructure administration, application hosting, systems integration, or enterprise platform operations.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure or another major public-cloud environment.
- Familiarity with automation, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, source-control, security, or deployment technologies.
- Experience investigating technical incidents, reviewing logs, troubleshooting failed processes, and documenting resolutions.
- General understanding of how enterprise applications and infrastructure components interact within a complex technology environment.
