Lumark has an exciting job opportunity for an User Interface / Software Engineer to join our team in support of the U.S. Military onsite in Fairfax, VA – this is an IMMEDIATE OPENING on an ACTIVE CONTRACT.
Duties
- The User Interface (UI) Engineer is focused on enhancing and maintaining our legacy web applications, as well as building new products.
- The ideal candidate should be passionate about building great user experiences and thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires complex problem solving.
- The UI Engineer will strive to deeply understand what drives the business for which they build software.
- Delivers work products on schedule that meet specifications, are free of defects, and have optimal performance
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- Currently hold or have recently held at minimum a DoD SECRET Clearance. An active Top Secret clearance is preferred.
- Must currently reside in or near Fairfax, VA and be able to commute to the work location.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Interaction Design or Multimedia Design, related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience performing the functions on DoD or Commercial programs/projects
- Deep experience in building and launching successful products that provide customer interaction to a large audience (i.e. high traffic websites)
- 5 years of deep front end development experience using HTML, CSS, CSS preprocessors (e.g. LESS or SASS), JavaScript (one of more of modern frameworks including React, Angular or Knockout), Angular is a plus
- Fluent knowledge of browser/device differences and the ability to deliver seamless responsive experiences that are browser agnostic.
- Ability to take Product Design artifacts (e.g. Photoshop documents, FIGMA drawings) and convert them to the necessary web assets.
- Ability to design and develop using appropriate software design patterns to attain high reusability and maintainability.
- Ability to contribute to all activities and steps that form the agile software development process, with an emphasis on design, estimating, implementation, testing and deployment.
- Ability to work directly with Functional Subject Matter Experts in the design of user interfaces and clarification of requirements
- Ability to engineer secure code with general supervision
