Lum’s GMC in McMinnville, Oregon is looking for a Diagnostic Technician who thrives on challenge and precision. You’ll be our go-to expert for identifying complex issues across all systems (with a GMC focus), working closely with our service advisors and repair techs to create confident, accurate solutions for our customers.

This is an ideal position for an experienced A-Level or B Tech who:

• Still loves diagnostics, drivability, and electrical systems.

• Enjoys using advanced scan tools, logic, and data—not brute force.

• Wants to collaborate and guide other technicians.

• May choose to assist with or oversee repairs (based on interest and ability) - pay will reflect the level of involvement.

What You’ll Do

• Perform advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting work across all systems — electrical, engine, drivability, and computer networks.

• Create clear, accurate repair plans and communicate findings with service advisors and techs.

• Assist or guide other technicians on complex repairs when needed.

• Keep up with GM training and the latest diagnostic technology.

• Be part of a team that values precision, teamwork, and a little shop humor.

• 3 years of technician experience (diagnostics preferred)

• ASE or GM Certification a plus

• Strong diagnostic, electrical, and drivability skills

• Solid computer and scan tool experience

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

• Must provide your own tools
