Role Description
Key Responsibilities
Install configure upgrade and administer Redis databases
Manage Redis Cluster Redis Sentinel replication and highavailability configurations
Monitor database performance availability capacity and resource utilisation
Perform database tuning optimisation and troubleshooting to ensure low latency and high throughput
Configure and manage backup recovery and disaster recovery processes
Implement security controls authentication encryption and access management
Automate routine database administration tasks using scripting tools
Support application teams during deployments migrations and performance investigations
Conduct root cause analysis RCA for database incidents and implement preventive measures
Manage Redis environments in cloud platforms such as Azure AWS or GCP
Create and maintain operational documentation SOPs and runbooks
Required Skills
Strong experience with Redis Database Administration
Expertise in Redis Cluster Redis Sentinel Replication and High Availability
Performance tuning query optimisation memory management and capacity planning
Backup Recovery Disaster Recovery planning
LinuxUnix Administration
Monitoring tools such as Grafana Prometheus Datadog or equivalent
Scripting experience in Shell Python or PowerShell
Knowledge of caching strategies data persistence and Redis data structures
Experience with cloudbased Redis services Azure Cache for Redis Amazon ElastiCache etc
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker
Experience with CICD tools such as Jenkins GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
Understanding of NoSQL databases and distributed systems
Redis Enterprise experience is an added advantage
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field
Relevant Redis Cloud or Database certifications preferred
Key Competencies
Problemsolving and troubleshooting skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management
Ability to work in 24x7 production support environments
Attention to detail and proactive monitoring mindset
