POSITION SUMMARY
The Material Handler is the entry point into LSC Environmental's manufacturing operations for 1st or 2nd shift. This role is responsible for the safe receiving, staging, movement, and management of raw materials, components, and finished goods across the production floor. Beyond the physical work, we are looking for individuals who demonstrate the instincts, work ethic, and situational awareness. LSC Environmental manufactures spray-applied environmental coatings, landfill cover systems, erosion control products, and vegetation solutions used at critical environmental sites around the world. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming raw materials and supplies
- Stage materials at the correct production workstations in advance of scheduled production runs
- Move finished goods to designated storage or shipping areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper labeling, organization, and cycle count participation
- Identify and report damaged, mislabeled, or out-of-spec materials to the Team Lead immediately
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards at all times
- Follow all LSC safety protocols, PPE requirements, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) without exception
- Operate material handling equipment safely and report any equipment issues promptly
- Support production operators during changeovers and material replenishment
- Participate actively in safety meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement discussions
- Demonstrate curiosity about the production process — ask questions, learn how products are made, understand why procedures exist
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods
- Basic math skills — ability to count, measure, and record accurately
- Forklift certification preferred; willingness to obtain certification required
- Prior experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environments preferred
- Mechanically inclined — comfortable around industrial equipment and machinery
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely
- Reliable attendance and punctuality — this role is foundational to the production schedule
- Demonstrated safety-first mindset in prior work or life experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting in a manufacturing environment. Exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures. PPE including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, and hearing protection required.
Pay: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
