Position: Part-Time Office Assistant

Location: La Porte City, Iowa
La Porte City Utilities is seeking a part-time Office Assistant to support the daily operations of the Utility Office. This position assists with customer billing, payments, recordkeeping, and other administrative duties. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a small, community-serving office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide customer service in person, by phone, and via email
· Process payments and assist with monthly billing
· Maintain utility records and reports in the Caselle software system
· Assist with budget tracking, reports, and office correspondence
· Support staff and management with other administrative needs
Qualifications:
· Prior office or clerical experience preferred
· Familiarity with utility billing or accounting software a plus (Caselle experience desirable)
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Hours & Compensation:
· Part-time, approximately 20–25 hours per week (schedule flexible within office hours)
· Hourly wage commensurate with experience
