Position Summary
As the Assistant Comptroller with a focus on General Accounting, Billing, Credentialing, and Payroll, you’ll ensure that every invoice is correct, every provider is properly credentialed, and every employee is paid accurately and on time. Your work will directly influence cash flow, compliance, employee satisfaction, and the strategic decisions that shape our future.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the full billing cycle - process client billing cycles, ensuring invoices are accurate, complete, and sent on schedule.
- Reconcile billing records with accounting ledgers to ensure data integrity.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor accounts receivable, collecting on outstanding balances, and tracking billing activities
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline billing and reporting workflows.
- Oversee credentialing processes for providers, ensuring payer enrollments are current and compliant.
- Maintain credentialing records and track renewal deadlines to avoid service interruptions.
- Reconcile payroll data with accounting records and prepare related journal entries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study.
- 3 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in billing or accounts receivable.
- 1 years billing and collections for Insurance MCO's and Veteran Administration managing re-certifications and collections.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating across departments and with clients.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
