Job summary:
Seeking banquet server to work at our elegant 21 Main Events at North Beach catering establishment. Our banquet servers provide friendly and attentive service to party guests, while attending our elaborate weddings and other special events. Our banquet servers help provide a positive guest experience, while serving guests fine food and beverages in a friendly and efficient manner. Servers are expected to wear a smile and be attentive to our guest needs to make them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.
Summary of essential job functions:
- Be punctual and reliable to adhere to assigned weekly work schedule
- Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting
- Arrive dressed in uniform (black pants, white button down long sleeve shirt, dark solid tie, black rubber soled shoes and long pinstripe apron for the event
- Review floor plan and event paperwork before each shift to ensure room is set as contracted and ready for use
- Assist the team with tasks to ensure the event starts on time
- Communicate with Maître D or banquet captain regarding event details and any special needs
- Be a good team player, communicate and assist fellow staff members during the event
- Follow our high safety and sanitary standards at all times
- Be diligent in fulfilling and delivering guests food plates and beverages during the event
- Deliver alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to the guest tables
- Promptly remove dinner courses, replenishing utensils and refilling water glasses
- Properly offer and pour wine at the table side
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
- Consistently adhere to grooming and appearance standards
- Reset rooms per management’s standards for the next event or have venue set for sales showing

- Have an outgoing and friendly personality
- Good punctuality and attendance
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to perform tasks and follow instructions
- Able to multitask especially during high demand times
- Able to work long hours and/ or handle difficult and stressful situations
- Must be 18 years or older to meet restrictions of The SLA Liquor Laws

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous serving experience preferred
