Job summary:
Seeking a line cook to prepare hot and cold meals according to predetermined company recipes and menus. The line cook monitors menu portions, manages stock inventory and helps maintains a spotless kitchen and work areas.
Seeking a line cook to prepare hot and cold meals according to predetermined company recipes and menus. The line cook monitors menu portions, manages stock inventory and helps maintains a spotless kitchen and work areas.
Summary of essential job functions:
- Prepare food, including cleaning and cutting ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, etc.
- Season and cook food according to company recipes to make sure it is tasty and delicious
- Plating prepared foods based on senior chef's guidance
- Work with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
- Assist with stocking items and setting up the kitchen stations
- Wash and clean the kitchen and cooking utensils and store the equipment at the end of shifts
- Ensure that all kitchen operational procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
- Estimate expected food consumption based on previous trends and business demand
- Inventory all supplies, store supplies in proper, date and rotate food items
- Organize food storage and kitchen equipment
- Supervise work of kitchen staff as directed by management
- Consult with management to plan menus, considering cost and special demand needs
- Perform other duties and assignments to meet business requirements as needed
- Fast paced restaurant environment
Abilities/Skills required:
- Must exert well paced mobility for periods of up to four hours in length
- Specialized training as a line cook
- Ability and experience utilizing kitchen equipment and utensils
- Must be capable to lift pots and pans, some weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must possess excellent finger dexterity to use small tools with ease
- Capable of performing general physical activities for long periods of time
- Must be a good verbal communicator with the ability to follow instructions carefully

Education and Experience:
- Degree or equivalent experience, culinary school background preferred
- 2 years experience as a cook in a restaurant or catering facility preferred
- The line cook must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate to maximum strength including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking and handling of materials
