Job Description:
A fully-funded Ph.D. position is available in the Energy and Propulsion Laboratory under the guidance of Dr. Shyam Menon starting in Fall 2026. The Ph.D. student hired for this position will be working on DOE EcoCAR competition tasks involving drivetrain hybridization and automated/connected vehicle technologies. The position includes an annual stipend of $31K guaranteed for 4 years and covers all tuition. The position starts in Fall 2026. Interested students please contact me at smenon@lsu.edu

Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- Any experience with FSAE will be highly relevant
- Any hands-on experience in the automotive field
- Ability to work with undergraduate students
- Aptitude and willingness to learn and work in a collaborative environment
