We are seeking an experienced Plumbing & Mechanical Commissioning Technician to support commissioning and startup activities for a high-tech semiconductor facility. This role focuses on verifying the installation, testing, and performance of complex plumbing and mechanical systems to ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, and operational readiness. The technician will perform commissioning across ASHRAE Levels 2–6, working closely with engineers, contractors, and facility teams.

The technician will perform commissioning across ASHRAE Levels 2–6, working closely with engineers, contractors, and facility teams.
Responsibilities
Level 2: Construction & Installation Verification
- Verify installation of process water piping, DI water return headers, chemical waste systems, and emergency safety fixtures.
- Conduct pressure testing of ultrapure water (UPW) loops and chilled water piping.
- Inspect chemical drain, secondary containment, and water quality monitoring systems.
- Confirm proper installation of pumps, exchangers, hydronic systems, and steam/condensate piping.
- Test water treatment system components (RO membranes, UV sterilizers, EDI, ozone generators, dosing pumps).
- Verify pump rotations, valve operations, actuator responses, and analyzer calibrations.
- Perform system flushing, passivation, and initial equipment startup.
- Test chilled water, hot water, steam, and boiler systems, including chemical feed systems.
- Commission complete process water systems (DI, PCW, CHW, chemical delivery).
- Validate flow rates, pressures, temperature control loops, and system interlocks.
- Test chemical waste neutralization, water recirculation, and HVAC hydronic balancing.
- Verify chiller plants, steam regulation, glycol freeze protection, and variable speed drives.
- Test system interactions under simulated fab production scenarios.
- Validate emergency response sequences (chemical spills, DI contamination, system failures).
- Verify capacity and redundancy of waste treatment and backup systems.
- Coordinate with fire protection systems and validate fab-wide alarm systems.
- Test energy management integration and load shedding sequences.
- Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
- 3 years of hands-on commissioning or mechanical/plumbing systems experience, ideally in semiconductor, mission-critical, or high-tech facilities.
- Strong knowledge of ultrapure/process water, hydronic, chemical waste, and HVAC mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE commissioning guidelines (Levels 2–6).
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with contractors, engineers, and client teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, but not required
- ASHRAE Commissioning Certification is an advantage.
- OSHA 30 / Safety Training, can be provided.
- Plumbing, Mechanical, or HVAC-related licenses/certifications is an advantage.
