The Water Treatment Technician is responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and preservation of onsite water treatment systems and related equipment in a mission-critical environment. This role ensures system readiness, reliability, and compliance by executing routine maintenance, responding to equipment events, and coordinating preservation activities with internal and external stakeholders.

The Water Treatment Technician is responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and preservation of onsite water treatment systems and related equipment in a mission-critical environment. This role ensures system readiness, reliability, and compliance by executing routine maintenance, responding to equipment events, and coordinating preservation activities with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance activities on operational water treatment equipment in accordance with client guidelines, SOPs, and safety procedures.
- Create, upload, and maintain documentation and system files for equipment entering the client’s operational system.
- Conduct preservation activities on non-operational equipment to maintain integrity and ensure equipment is ready for future use.
- Complete safe-state verification and sign-off procedures for non-operating equipment before preservation work.
- Escalate vendor-required preservation tasks to FCE/FFO teams and assist in coordinating site visits.
- Collaborate with central engineering teams on escalations, troubleshooting, and review of preservation checklists.
- Respond quickly to equipment shutdowns, alarms, and abnormal conditions; escalate critical issues to central engineers as needed.
- Conduct routine rounds and readings on non-automated equipment and facility areas to verify proper performance and condition.
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and compliance requirements.
- Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
- 1–10 years’ experience operating and maintaining UPW systems in a mission-critical facility.
- Hands-on experience with filtration systems, reverse osmosis, UV sterilization systems, and ion exchange.
- Strong technical knowledge of ultrapure water generation and distribution systems.
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and escalate UPW system issues effectively.
- Understanding of safety practices, lockout/tagout, and maintenance procedures in mission-critical environments.
- Solid communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with engineers and vendors.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and system monitoring.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to alarms or equipment issues.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Associate’s, Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Engineering, Mechanical, or related field preferred, but not required.
