Duties
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and provide detailed descriptions of dishes and beverages to enhance their dining experience
- Take accurate food and drink orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely delivery
- Upsell menu items and specials to maximize sales while providing personalized recommendations based on guest preferences
- Serve food and beverages efficiently, maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation
- Manage guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction
- Assist with food handling, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to uphold sanitation standards
- Utilize reservation systems like OpenTable to manage bookings and optimize seating arrangements for smooth service flow
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightclub settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS; familiarity with OpenTable is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
- Culinary experience or understanding of food preparation enhances your ability to answer guest questions confidently
- Demonstrated time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, billing, and order calculations accurately
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Previous host/hostess or serving experience preferred; experience with upselling techniques beneficial
- Capable of working flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic environment
