The Los Angeles County Office of Education is seeking self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented individuals to provide payroll support within the Accounting and Budget Development Division.
This position performs a variety of specialized and technical duties related to payroll and system related functions and activities to assure County Office employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge
Experience: One year of payroll processing experience and the utilization of automated business systems.
Hybrid remote schedules may be available.
Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a Multiple-Choice Exam, Performance Exam, and a Structured Interview.

- Input and data retrieval procedures for payroll databases and computerized systems
- Filing and record-keeping systems (e.g., UKG, Red Rover) and techniques for physical and electronic document management
- Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications
- Critical Thinking – Analytically and logically evaluating information, propositions, and claims
- Mathematical Facility – Performing computations and solving mathematical problems
- Legal & Regulatory Navigation – Understanding, interpreting, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
- Professional & Technical Expertise – Applying technical subject matter to the job
- Using Technology – Working with electronic hardware and software applications
