Training Coordinator II $53,700 - $82,500

Logistics (LOG-DIV) is part of the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Facilities and Operations at Los Alamos National Laboratory, supporting skilled craftworkers and supervisors across maintenance and construction operations.

The Logistics Craft Training Group (LOG-CFTTRG) delivers required and refresher training to more than 1,500 craft employees, ensuring operational readiness and regulatory compliance.

This is an onsite position in Los Alamos, NM. We're looking for a motivated, customer-focused professional to provide training coordination and administrative support for a fast-paced, high-impact training program.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Registering and scheduling courses
  • Proctoring exams and quizzes
  • Preparing training materials
  • Providing front-desk customer support
  • Managing training records and reports
  • Coordinating classrooms, facilities, and equipment
  • Assigning, scheduling and tracking curricula

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

Training Administration & Coordination

  • Experience providing training registration services
  • Ability to serve as a test and quiz proctor
  • Demonstrated experience assigning and managing training plans
  • Ability to coordinate classrooms, facilities, and equipment with course schedules
  • Ability to prepare and assemble training materials (e.g., workbooks, pamphlets, supplies)

Records Management & Systems

  • Experience compiling and maintaining training records
  • Ability to use a Learning Management System (LMS) and records management systems to track and report training and qualification status

Research, Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Ability to research, assemble, and evaluate information related to industry practices or regulatory changes
  • Ability to recommend practical solutions to moderately complex training program issues

Customer Service/Communication

  • Demonstrated experience providing quality customer service by effectively building and maintaining professional working relationships with customers and all staff levels, both internal and external.
  • Ability to provide strong customer service providing clear, concise support and guidance, and a record of dealing effectively with conflict.

Teamwork

  • Experience working in a complex organization of diverse operations, combined with a demonstrated ability to function collaboratively with varying teams.

Education/Experience: Position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years related experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with UTrain or similar LMS preferred
  • Working knowledge of Laboratory policies and procedures pertaining to training. Awareness of DOE orders and standards pertaining to training.
  • Working knowledge of the Laboratory's training data management systems and related information data systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and shared business systems (example: Learning Management Systems, Oracle, Google Drive, Teams, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of common audio-visual and office equipment.
  • Working knowledge of communication and presentation techniques in both written and spoken communications in the English language.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
