What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training and Development Coordinator position at North Central Regional Transit District?
Under general supervision, plans, develops, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates District-wide non-safety training and organizational development programs; manages the District’s learning management system; administers employee onboarding programs; collaborates with department leadership to identify workforce development needs and implement targeted training solutions; and performs related work as required.
- Develops, coordinates, delivers, and tracks District-wide non-safety training programs including new employee orientation, professional development, leadership and supervisor development, mandatory compliance training (e.g., EEO and harassment prevention), technology training, and customer service training.
- Manages and administers the District’s learning management system (LMS), including course content, enrollments, tracking, reporting, and system improvements.
- Coordinates and continuously improves onboarding programs to ensure new employees receive consistent, timely, and effective training and orientation.
- Partners with department directors, managers, and supervisors to identify skill gaps, training needs, and development priorities; assists in the creation of individual and team development plans.
- Provides logistical, administrative, and facilitation support for in-person, virtual, and hybrid training sessions.
- Assists in evaluating training effectiveness through data analysis, participant feedback, and outcome measures; prepares reports and recommends improvements for continuous organizational learning.
- Collaborates with Operations and other departments to coordinate non-safety training components for quarterly operational or organizational meetings.
- Supports organizational change initiatives by developing communication, training materials, and learning strategies that reinforce District priorities and values.
- Assists with maintaining accurate training records and documentation to support compliance, audit, and reporting requirements.
- Researches best practices, emerging trends, and innovative approaches in training, learning technologies, and organizational development; recommends enhancements aligned with District needs.
- Prepares training materials, presentations, guides, and other instructional resources.
- Ensures training activities comply with applicable District policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Education:
- Equivalent to an associate degree in human resource management, organizational development, education, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in training coordination, learning and development, organizational development, or a related field, preferably in a public sector or unionized environment.
