The Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL)'s Special Security IT & Cyber Operations (SSO-3) Group supports the IT and Cybersecurity operations of a complex, classified environment in support of Global Security missions.
SSO is seeking candidates for undergraduate student positions to contribute to a variety of challenging accredited computing initiatives, performing work to enable the Cybersecurity, Linux, Networking, or Windows teams. This posting is generalized across the group and enables students to find their fit in a variety of technical roles across the group.

- Contributing to a technical team by providing automation, creating documentation, or performing systems integration and deployment
- Providing process recommendations to continuously improve efficiency and security
- Assisting with daily Cybersecurity CONMON activities -or- daily IT programmatic support activities

- Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Must be enrolled in at least 12 semester credit hours (or full-time equivalent).
- Must currently have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
- Proficiency with Linux or Windows, including limited experience maintaining systems.
- Knowledge of basic Cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with systems administration, including desktops, servers, and networking.
- Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework and related NIST standards.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written) well in a professional context.
- Experience with Ansible or PowerShell.
