Job Title: Summer Stretch Staff 2026 

 

Position Summary: To provide supervision and implementation of the Summer Stretch program over the summer months. 

 

Department: Children, Youth, and Family 

 

Reports to: Middle School Ministry Director 

 

Supervises: High school volunteer staff and middle school participants 

 

Status: Part-time 

 

FLSA: Non-Exempt 

 

Hours Worked Per Week: 8-20 hours per week. Includes: 

  • Summer Stretch Staff Training and Open House(June 8,9am-8pm)
  • Summer Stretch Wednesdays (June 10,17,24, July 8, 15, & 22)
  • Summer Stretch Thursdays(June 11,18,25, July 9,16, & 23)

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Help coordinate and lead programming for Summer Stretch 
  • Be responsible for approximately two small groups at service sites 
  • Lead up front when assigned
  • Lead high school volunteers 
  • Work occasionally in outdoor weather conditions

 

Principal Functions: 

  • Lead and actively participate in Bible studies, games, devotions, and other activities
  • Build relationships with volunteers and participants
  • Participate with students in all activities
  • Connect activities to a life of faith

Education/Qualifications: 

  • Highschool graduate

 

Experience/Knowledge:  

  • Previous experience working with children and families

 

Physical Demands:  Check appropriate category to function in the job 

 Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible  

 amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, 

 including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are  

 sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary 

 criteria are met. 

 Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of 

 force constantly to move objects.  If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of  

 forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job 

 is considered light work. 

X Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20  

 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. 

Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds 

of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

 

Environmental/Working Conditions:  

  • Work will be done in a variety of settings
  • During program times, most of the time will be spent actively engaging with youth.
  • Must be able to physically model all activities

  • Smartphone and photo sharing apps
