Position Summary:
Camp Tahuaya – a Family Adventure Campground is currently seeking candidates for the role of Activities Leader!

This is a WEEKEND position that includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Schedule will vary based on the event and activities offered each weekend. Some weekday shifts may be available on demand.
Compensation: $13.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Hold groups accountable to agency standards and safety rules of the campground.
- Assist in preparing the buildings and accommodations for rentals, including light cleaning when needed.
- Assist in ensuring that restrooms facilities are clean and stocked.
- Teach outdoor education, STEM curriculum, climbing, target and range activities and all programs with enthusiasm and commitment to fostering an appreciation for the outdoors (extensive training provided)
- Assist in the development of new and innovative camp program curriculum.
- Incorporate opportunities for teaching courage, confidence, and character during daily interaction with campers and staff.
- Assist with group special events activities as part of the camp’s schedule of events.
- Prepare program supplies, set up activity areas, and provide programming assistance.
- Adhere to all Guide to Safe Scouting standards for safety and quality.
- Provide excellent customer service and satisfaction to all groups present at Camp Tahuaya
- Carry out other non-essential duties as delegated by camp administrative staff including assisting in the office, assisting in the kitchen, and assisting with camp programs or events.
- All other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prior experience serving in a non-profit youth setting including, but not limited to, the areas of recreation, education, or other social science preferred.
- Must have a basic knowledge of how to lead camp activities and manage groups, including customer service and conflict management.
- Must be a hard worker that is friendly, detail oriented, accurate, self-motivated, and willing to work in a team environment
- Demonstrate good judgment.
- Demonstrate sound professional ethics.
- Flexible and committed to personal and professional development.
- Good judgment in anticipating and preventing accidents.
- Be able to act calmly, quickly, and give and/or follow directions during an emergency.
- Knowledge of safety practices as applicable.
- Dedicated to delivering exceptional outdoor programs.
- Williness to learn Climbing
Essential Requirements:
- Become a registered member of Scouting America, which includes a Criminal Background check and required training.
- Hold the minimum certification requirements of CPR and First Aid. (Provided during training)
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
Work Conditions/Physical Demands: Activities occur both inside and outside. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently
