One Oak at Hemingway’s Tavern is seeking a dynamic, self-starting, team-oriented Event Assistant. This part-time position requires a go-getter who can multi-task comfortably and efficiently, feel confident in both guest facing and back of house labor intensive environments, and easily adapt to high stress situations. Candidate must be an ambassador for the One Oak/Hemingway’s Tavern brand; ensuring the guest’s experiences meet or exceed their expectations. The goal is to drive revenue and foster relationships with guests that will endure and ultimately grow the One Oak event business contributing to the annual sales goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive sales and event bookings through assisting with prospecting calls, venue tours, and community referrals to qualify accounts and opportunities to secure high closing and conversion ratios.
- Partner with our Guests to create a tailored and memorable experience based on their needs.
- Assist the Event Manager to create a positive guest experience and provide quality service through detailed event planning and follow up.
- Assist in client scheduling via email and phone.
- Assist in client facing meetings.
- Responsible for assisting event manager with all event coordination.
- Assist Event Manager in hiring staff for events favoring organizational staff.
- Responsible for assisting with set up, execution and breakdown of all events.
- Provide support to both FOH and BOH management team.
- Perform opening, mid-day, and/or closing duties.
- Understand all aspects of packages, price structures, and vendor relations.
- Maintain inventories for all events, catering, and facility items.
- Create spreadsheets, forms, and other necessary documents, as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree (two-year college or technical school) preferred
- Experience: Minimum Two years in the Hospitality/Restaurant/Event industry ideally in catering, events, and/or sales.
- Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word. Social Media Savvy.
- CRM system/data base management experience
- Excellent written communication, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of food standards and best practices
- Ability to travel in-area to generate sales
- Public speaking experience a plus.
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Some lifting and the movement of moderate loads require a 50-pound lifting requirement.
- Responsible for utilizing equipment. The effective operation of equipment requires the use of all limbs, fingers, and the ability to see.
- Often working indoors, but occasionally required to work outdoors.
- Spends time standing and walking swiftly, therefore, he/she must have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and move freely using all limbs and seeing at close/long distances.
- Attend meetings, conferences, workshops, etc. as well as visit other locations, off site locations, etc.; therefore, he/she must be able to travel autonomously, possibly to other geographical locations.
Salary : $20 - $26
